Department: Immunology
Contract: Fixed-term, 2 years
Salary: £33,500–£44,614 per annum, depending on experience
Project Overview:
This Wellcome Trust and Royal Society-funded project focuses on discovering molecular mechanisms underpinning B-cell immunity. Building on recent findings about RNA helicase DDX1 , the research investigates germinal center reactions through novel mouse models. Techniques include in vivo immune analysis, ex vivo B-cell culture, and various cellular and molecular assays.
Candidate Requirements:
- PhD in Immunology or a related field (completed or thesis submitted).
- Experience in mouse models, flow cytometry, and molecular assays.
- Proactivity and creativity in research.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth research on B-cell function and immune responses.
- Analyze experimental data and publish findings in high-impact journals.
- Collaborate with the wider Immunology Programme.

2. Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Epigenetics (Trefely Lab)
Department: Epigenetics
Contract: Fixed-term, 3 years
Salary: £37,364–£40,828 per annum, depending on experience
Project Overview:
This project, in collaboration with Oxford University, explores the metabolic-epigenetic interface in diabetic cardiomyopathy. The Babraham Institute-based postdoc will lead metabolomic and epigenomic analyses using cutting-edge LC-MS methods and iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes.
Candidate Requirements:
- PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or similar field (completed or thesis submitted).
- Experience in metabolomics, sequencing, or proteomics.
- Background in iPSC culture and metabolic research is advantageous.
Responsibilities:
- Perform subcellular metabolomic analyses using LC-HRMS.
- Develop iPSC models to explore metabolic-epigenetic mechanisms.
- Collaborate with Oxford University researchers for interdisciplinary insights.
