This role is focused on supporting LIH’s efforts in developing tools to advance cancer research using large internal and European data repositories.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and maintain data spaces for research and analysis.
- Develop dashboards using platforms like cBioPortal to visualize complex biological data.
- Contribute to federated data spaces to enable secure data storage and model sharing for federated learning.
- Assist in creating internal dashboards for monitoring and analyzing existing data.
- Use database mining tools to annotate sequencing data.
- Process medical, clinical, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, ensuring data quality and compliance with GDPR standards.
Required Skills and Experience:
- MSc or PhD in Bioinformatics, Medical Informatics, Data Science, or Software Engineering.
- Proficiency in command-line scripting and Linux environments.
- Experience with SQL databases.
- Familiarity with containers (e.g., Singularity, Docker) and computational pipelining tools (e.g., Nextflow, Snakemake).
- Experience with Python (Flask), Java, or R is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
