Position Overview: Project Scientist in Bioinformatics

Key Responsibilities

As a Project Scientist in Bioinformatics, your role will involve:

Conducting advanced research in bioinformatics, computational biology, and data science.
Developing and implementing algorithms and tools for data analysis, including genomics, proteomics, and transcriptomics.
Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams on pharmaceutical research and drug development projects.
Designing and optimizing software solutions for analyzing biological datasets.
Preparing technical reports, publishing findings in high-impact journals, and presenting at national and international conferences.
Training and mentoring junior researchers and interns in bioinformatics methodologies.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
Candidates with a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics and significant research experience in the field may also be considered.

Skills and Expertise

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, Perl, or MATLAB for bioinformatics applications.
Experience in analyzing high-throughput biological data, including NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing) data, genome annotation, and protein modeling.
Hands-on knowledge of bioinformatics tools and software like BLAST, ClustalW, and databases such as NCBI, UniProt, and KEGG.
