Project Overview: FIGHTBLIGHT
The FIGHTBLIGHT project is a collaborative effort with prominent researchers:
- Prof. Silvia Restrepo (Boyce Thompson Institute, Ithaca, NY, USA)
- Prof. Sophien Kamoun (The Sainsbury Laboratory, Norwich, UK)
Using the Cas-Exo technology for targeted insertions, the project aims to:
- Integrate novel effector recognition domains in potato immune receptors.
- Develop resistance against the devastating potato late blight caused by Phytophthora infestans.
The project is funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) and leverages cutting-edge bioengineering approaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Develop Constructs: Create constructs for targeted insertions of effector recognition domains in immune receptors.
- Potato Transformation: Perform genetic editing and transformation to confer pathogen resistance.
- Cas-Exo Technology Improvement: Enhance the existing CRISPR-Cas-Exo platform.

Qualifications and Requirements
